PRACTICE TEAM

Practice Managers

Teresa Cawsey and Ann Loxton
Practice Manager

As of Autumn 2022, we have two new Practice Managers, Teresa Cawsey and Ann Loxton, who share the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practice since Rachel Witcombe retired.

If you have a complaint, criticism, compliment or suggestion please contact one of them by telephoning the surgery on 01749 342314, or by writing, or by asking at reception desk.

Your views are always welcome and help us provide the best possible service to our patients.

Practice Staff

The clinicians, practice and community staff at the surgery.

We are a small, but very busy surgery taking around 1500 calls and scheduling about 750 appointments each week. In addition there are telephone consultations, home visits and care home visits as well as training and meetings which have to be attended from time to time. Our doctors and nurses are supported by other members of staff in the reception and office areas.

All our staff work to ensure the best possible outcome for our patients.

Reception Staff

Our Reception Team book appointments with the Doctors, Nursing staff and FCP Practitioners, process the post and emails and look after front desk and the waiting room.

Whilst our reception team are not medically trained and do not make medical decisions, they are highly trained on how to deal with enquiries and to help triage for our Doctors. The team communicates constantly with the clinical team and are acting on their directions when you speak to them.

They will do their best to answer any queries that you may have. Please help them by being as concise as you can about your requirements. Sometimes they may have to ask you for further details in order to assess how best to help you.  All our surgery staff will respect your privacy and are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.

The Reception Team also arrange regular health checks and tests for patients, communicate with other health teams including ambulance, hospital and the wider PCN.

The reception team is managed by Sarah Bannerman, our Lead Receptionist as from October 2024.

Administration Team

We also employ medical secretaries, records clerks, prescription coordinators and administratration staff who run our repeat prescription service, register new patients and arrange new baby checks; help prepare reports and record results and work closely with the rest of the team.

They liaise with other organisations such as Community Hospitals, Carer Support and Health Connections and undertake a number of other important administrative tasks
